Skeleton

Every doll has a metal skeleton fitted inside. Its main "bones" and joints replicate human anatomy. The more advanced the skeleton, the more joints it has, and the more realistic the poses the doll can hold. Because of this, there are several skeleton types.

Type 1 — Standard Skeleton

This is a regular skeleton type, its most basic version. This skeleton only has the main joints in the limbs and spine. As a result, the number of possible poses is significantly limited.

Its main distinguishing feature is the lack of additional joints in the collarbones. Because of this, a doll with this skeleton can't raise its shoulders.

Limitations of the standard skeleton

  • The doll can't shrug or raise its shoulders.
  • The spine only bends forward and back, with no sideways tilt.
  • With most brands, the knees only bend to around 90 degrees.

This skeleton type is now almost never seen on silicone dolls.

Type 2 — EVO Skeleton

This is a more advanced skeleton version for dolls. It has a number of additional joints added, which let the doll take on far more positions.

What the EVO skeleton gives you

  • The doll can raise and "shrug" its shoulders, and upper body poses look far more natural.
  • The spine tilts not only forward and back, but also left and right.
  • Thanks to additional joints in the lower back, the doll can bend at the waist.
  • The knees and arms bend fully. For example, poses where the heels touch the buttocks are possible.
  • Increased hip mobility allows for deeper seated poses.

Depending on the brand, the skeleton may also come with a different joint type. For example, so called "double joints", which let the limbs move more smoothly and wear less over time.

This considerably improves the quality of the experience of using a sex doll. We recommend always adding this upgrade when choosing a doll.

Right now, this skeleton type has become a standard upgrade for silicone dolls, and with almost every brand it's included for free. That said, always check this in the customisation section of the product page. If EVO is listed as a paid option, add it to your order, this is one case where you shouldn't cut corners.

Care and handling rules

  • Only bend limbs in natural directions and to natural limits. The skeleton replicates human anatomy, if a pose isn't possible for a person, it isn't possible for the doll either.
  • When bending a limb, hold it and apply force close to the "joint". The further out the point of force, the higher the risk of damaging the limb itself.
  • Change the doll's poses smoothly, without jerking. A sudden movement creates a peak load on the material at the joints.
  • Don't leave the doll for long periods in complex poses with limbs strongly bent. The material at the bend points experiences tension, and over time this leads to creases and wrinkles. For long term storage, straighten the limbs into a neutral position.
